The cheese that started it all.

Our history is closely linked with Tilsiter cheese. Our founding father, Paul Strähl Senior, was the first cheesemaker in Switzerland to launch a pasteurised Tilsiter. One of his masterstrokes was embossing the Strähl lettering onto the cheese.

As a result, Tilsiter simply became known as “Strähl cheese” in our region. While our Tilsiter also bears the common green label nowadays, our tried-and-tested recipe has remained. When it comes to quality, we make no compromises.
